Why A Hotel Suite Is The Perfect Place To Prepare For A Wedding

by Lilja Maijala

In advance of your wedding, it's a good idea to book a suite at a hotel within the immediate vicinity. Many hotels today have one- and two-bedroom suites, and this can be a perfect place for those in your bridal party to gather for pre-wedding preparations. You may even want to book two suite rooms so that the bride and bridesmaids can use one, while the groom and the groomsmen can use the other. Here are some reasons why booking hotel suites is a smart choice.

Space For Out-Of-Town Attendees

There's a good chance that there may be members of your bridal party who live out of town — perhaps they were friends from college or when you were growing up. Although such individuals are certainly capable of booking their own accommodations, having some suites ready for them can be a nice gesture and one that saves them money when they're already paying for other travel expenses. Additionally, if there are friends from your childhood who know each other but haven't gotten together in years, they may favor the idea of staying in the suite the night before the wedding.

All Of The Necessary Amenities

While some wedding parties will gather at a house of a family member or friend before the ceremony to get ready, doing so in a hotel suite is a better choice. The suite will have all of the amenities that you need, including an iron and ironing board, hair dryers, and other items. The last thing you'd want is to meet at a friend's house and realize that his or her iron is broken when you need it. Additionally, you may want to have room service bring up some finger foods and drinks for the group to enjoy while getting ready.

A Fun Spot To Gather

There's no disputing the fun of a wedding, and you may find that booking a suite for your bridal party — even if no one stays there overnight, and you only use it during the day — will add to the fun factor. Instead of everyone getting ready himself or herself and then traveling to the wedding venue, you'll enjoy gathering in the suite to get dressed and converse. If you've hired a wedding photographer to shoot images of everyone getting ready, it's easier for him or her to do so in one location, rather than have to travel between perhaps two or more houses.
